Asplenium nidus (Bird's-nest fern, Crispy Wave) ir part of Aspleniaceae family. This plant is native to Southeast Asia, Eastern Australia & East Africa. Asplenium nidus is characterized by attractive lush foliage similar in appearance to banana leaves: stemless, strap-shaped, bright green fronds have a dark brown-black mid-rib and wavy margins. Overlapping fronds form a rosette with a nest-like center, spreading upwards then gracefully arching outwards.

Asplenium nidus is slow growing indoor fern: an ultimate height of around 60cm, spreading to around 45cm.

Asplenium is easy to care for, following its basic care requirements of moderate, indirect light. Keep the soil little bit moist at all times (less water is required during the winter). Don’t let it to sit in water, so must be kept in a well draining potting mix.  Water the soil around the plant, not the crown, because it may cause rot.

  • Pot size (diameter): 17cm
  • Height with pot: 35cm

!Please note that each plant is unique and variations of appearance may occur between each one.

Plant care:

  • Light: Happy at moderate indirect light.
