With its northern native look, the tropical Bucida buceras "Shady lady" looks organic in spacious buildings and as beautiful addition to the entrance of a business centres, molls, airports utt. This all-round beauty is therefore very popular with architects and interior landscapers.
A Bucida buceras tree originally comes from Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the north of South America. The tree is known by many names, such as Bullet Tree, Black Olive Tree and Geometry Tree. It is a bushy tree with green-blue leaves that are leathery to the touch and 5-10 cm long. The wood of the Bucida buceras "Shady lady" is particularly hard and very resistant to fungus and insects.
The slow-growing Bucida buceras "Shady lady" needs a lot of light and can be placed in a sunny spot or in a spot with some light shade. The best position is one to two metres in front of a north-facing window, two to three metres in front of an east or west-facing window and three to four metres in front of a south-facing window.
The Bucida buceras is easy to care for, however does need a lot of water. The soil should be well-drained and should not dry out. Make sure that the soil is always slightly moist during summer months. Depending on the location, watering should be done once every week or two weeks in spring and summer, and once every 3 or 4 weeks in autumn and winter.
