Euphorbia acrurensis or Desert Candle Cactus is native to Asia and West Africa.
The ribbed stems of Euphorbia acrurensis grow like a chandelier and produce small oval leaves on the perimeters. It definitely will add exotic charm to any area. If you place the Desert cactus against walls such as room corners, rotate the plant so all parts get even light. You can also place it on terraces, balconies on summer time.
WATERING
Start by watering once a month. Water this size plant with approximately 1.5l of water per session. Use distilled water to prevent the build-up of minerals in soil.
Slower watering is usually more effective. Pour water all around the center of the plant so that it filters down the base.
Watering is no good to plant if the water runs down the outside of the root ball, leaving the central roots dry. The key is to ensure that water gets to the root zone. It is helpful to prick little holes into the soil and pour water inside to assure it goes down well.
Check up on the same day each month by inserting your finger into the soil (about 5cm) and feel the moisture level. Make sure that the blades and stems are soft and spongy before you water.
Once you do this for a few months, you will get the hang of it and you can determine the best watering schedule for your light, temperature and moisture conditions.
Euphorbia is easy to care for, following its basic care requirements.
!Please note that each plant is unique and variations of appearance may occur between each one.
