Philodendron scandens Brasil is part of the Araceae family. It is cultivar of heartleaf philodendron (Philodendron scandens). It has green, heart-shaped leaves with splashes of variegation in shades of lime green. This plant gained its name due to its resemblance to the Brazilian flag. Philodendron can be grown as a trailing or climbing plant.
Philodendron scandens Brasil is easy to care for, following its basic care requirements of bright indirect to medium light (it can tolerate low light, but will grow leggy, slow and the coloration of the leaves will revert). It likes medium watering. The best way is to let the top 2-4 cm of the soil to dry out before next watering. It is fine to keep the soil little bit moist at all times. Don’t let it to sit in water, this plant doesn't like wet feet, so must be kept in a well draining potting mix.
It’s not a fussy plant, therefore is great for beginners.
