Philodendron scandens micans (Philodendron hederaceum) or Velvet Leaf Philodendron is part of the Araceae family. It has green, heart-shaped velvety leaves with gorgeous pinky red underside and beautiful shines when sun shines through. This Philodendron can be grown as a trailing or climbing plant.
Philodendron scandens is easy to care for, following its basic care requirements of bright indirect to medium light (it can tolerate low light, but will grow leggy, slow). It likes medium watering. The best way is to let the top 2-4 cm of the soil to dry out before next watering. It is fine to keep the soil little bit moist at all times. Don’t let it to sit in water, this plant doesn't like wet feet, so must be kept in a well draining potting mix.
